Motion Graphics

Some quick exercises to familiarize myself with After Effects. My editing skills in Premiere Pro were helpful in navigating my way around AE. I draw most inspiration in graphic design from styles and aesthetics of the past, but would love to bring them into the 21st century by adding a modern twist.

Static Designs in Motion

This exercise consisted of a pre-existing design from the 1950s. I reconstructed all the elements using Illustrator, and adapted them to a standard ad resolution. My passion for type led me to be able to find very similar fonts to the typefaces on the booklet. One important step was rewording some of the contents of the text in order to adapt it from its vintage booklet format into a modern ad on the internet.

Individualized Graphics

The next exercise involves another strong passion of mine, classic cars. This was only a practice exercise in After Effects, and is in no way affiliated with Mecum Auctions. I attend Mecum’s Indy Spring Classic auction every year, and thought it may be good source material for a demo. The graphics here were intended to match the specific classic car shown.

Static Design

Various illustrative and text-based graphic design. Some were just for fun, others were for clients’ consideration.
